Did anyone consider the possibility that GMGM PLANNED to move someone but there was nothing available? 

I’m positive he did.  But GM’s are paid to improve the team.  Not even moving Hamrlik is astonishing.  Not even a 5th,6th,7th round pick? :(

But why trade him or what amounts to basically chicken scratch? If you trade everyone who steps on someone toes I guess we should have traded off Wideman for getting into it with Ovechkin? Hunter is a big boy and probably doesn’t care what Hamrlik said. Hamr struggled earlier in the season but he hasn’t been half bad lately and obviously if GMGM was interested in moving them, he never got an offer that was worth what Hamrlik, and it made more sense to keep him. At the very least he’s a better reserve D than Erskine.
